weekly feelings // volume 3

i posted the first two volumes of my weekly feelings on friday, but this is my blog and i make the rules and i've already felt a lot of feelings so this week its going up on monday. let's dive in.

new york city

new york has been one of my favorite places for as long as i can remember, and i got to go back for a quick little visit last weekend. the energy just feels different there, and the food and art and the restaurants and everything is just better. there's a post coming up soon about all of the food my friend rachel and i ate, which i'm so excited to put together. cause it was good.

i finally got to walk along the high line AND we rode bikes through central park, a thing i didn't know i wanted to do so bad. its so different experiencing new york with a new yorker, and i couldn't be more thankful for my friend who opened her home and her life to me for a whole weekend.

the reputation tour

one of the reasons i went to new york was because i'm a grown-up lady and i decided it was time to treat myself to seeing taylor swift in new york. i mean, technically new jersey, but that's semantics. this was my 7th time seeing taylor live and i'm already ready to see the rep tour again in october when she comes to texas. this is definitely her biggest, most fun tour so far, and the rain on night 3 at metlife stadium was magical. i'm so happy that i made it happen for myself.

hannah gadsby's nanette

i don't even really have the words for how this comedy special made me feel. i'd heard such good things about it all over twitter, and i finally sat down to watch it today. oh man. what a talent. hannah is charming and hilarious and then she gets INTO IT and tells her story and it should be required watching for every man and woman on the planet. i cried several times and can almost guarantee you will too. go watch it on netflix and then talk to me about it!

the story of the mcdonald's monopoly scam

y'all. this story came across my twitter feed this morning and OH MY GOD. what a wild ride! i have such vivid memories of the monopoly game throughout the 90s and it turns out that one man was just scamming the WHOLE SYSTEM. also the reason none of us remember the scandal is because the trial started on september 10, 2001. THIS STORY HAS EVERYTHING. please read it immediately and again, come talk to me about it.

hope you enjoy your week! what's making you feel feelings this week?
